Second State Level Invitational Karate Championship was organised by Yamoto Shotokan Karate Association, Mangalore, in collaboration with Rotary Club, Bantwal on 14th January at Sparsh Kalamandira, Bantwal.
Students of Holy Redeemer English Medium School participated and won many prizes.
Competitions of Kata (movements) and Kumite (fighting) were held in age wise and belt wise categories.
Manvi (7th) first place in Kata, Bhuvi (7th) second place in Kumite, Ann Maria (7th) third place in Kata, Shamanth (7th) first in Kata and first in Kumite.
Mohammed Arman (6th) third in Kata, Sonal D’Souza (6th) second in Kata and third in Kumite, Anju Maria (6th) third in Kata and second in Kumite, Ayan (6th) first in Kata and second in Kumite.
Manvik (5th) second in Kata, Prajwal Gowda (5th) third in Kata, Pragati (5th ) third in Kata, Aaron Fernandes (5th) third in Kata, Tanish (5th) second in Kata. Muhammad Tanzeel (4th) first in Kumite and second in Kata, Alvin Rodriguez (4th) third in Kata, Vihan (4th) first in Kata and second in Kumite, Bhavish Shetty (4th) first in Kata and first in Kumite.
Angeline Desa (1st) second in Kumite and UKG students Faustina Maria second in Kata and first Kumite and Gail Miranda first in Kata and third in Kumite.
All the participants secured prizes and the school won the overall championship.
