
Children’s day at Holy Redeemer English Medium School was beautifully celebrated on November 14.
At 9:00 am, on account of children’s day, a Holy mass was offered in the church. Catholic children and teachers participated in it.
To convey children’s day wishes, a short program was organised in the school auditorium.
The day dedicated to the children was wonderfully celebrated and was made more special by the teachers.
Chief guest Rev Fr Clifford Rodrigues, member of Carmelite community Asha deepa, Madanthyar, was escorted by Correspondent Very Rev Walter D’Mello, Headmaster Rev Fr Clifford Pinto and PTA Vice President Mr Ramesh.
A prayerful song filled the air with divine essence, gave a perfect beginning to the program. Words of welcome by teacher Renita Lasrado were heartfelt. Floral tribute to the portrait of Chacha Nehru was paid significantly by the guests and School Pupil Leader Vaishnavi and Assistant School Pupil Leader Alston DSilva.
The chief guest gave a message on how to be a good child at home and school, while correspondent in his presidential remarks urged the children to outpour their talents.
The teachers sang wishing songs of blessings and goodness. Children enjoyed the awe dance performances by the teachers that filled the atmosphere with energy and excitement.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of class wise lucky games held previously on account of children’s day. Also prizes of squad wise individual competitions prizes were distributed.
Students who won in Taluk level sports and cultural events and represented the school in district level were felicitated.
PTA committee members were present for the program. They sponsored gifts for all children.
The headmaster wished the children and told them about the further part of the celebration.
Teacher Blendin Rodrigues proposed the vote of thanks and Teacher Lavina compered the program.
After the celebration, High school students visited Daya Special School in Belthangady and celebrated children’s day with them. Children’s movies were organised to pre-primary, primary and higher primary students.
In the evening refreshments were served to all children.
